Small Group Balance and Strength Classes in Edinburgh

Improve strength, balance and confidence with a small group class

Maintaining strength and balance is an important part of staying active and independent as we get older.

Our small group balance and strength classes in Edinburgh are designed to help you build strength, improve balance, maintain mobility and feel more confident with everyday movement.

Classes are kept deliberately small, with a maximum of just 4 participants per class. This allows for individual guidance while still providing the motivation and social benefits of exercising in a small group.

Home gym with various equipment including weight machine, dumbbells, kettlebells, plyometric boxes, and a squat rack, organized on a black rubber flooring with a mirror on the right wall.

What are balance and strength classes?

Balance and strength training combines exercises that challenge your muscles, coordination, stability and ability to move confidently.

The focus is on practical movements that can support everyday activities, such as:

  • Getting up and down from a chair

  • Walking and changing direction

  • Climbing stairs

  • Picking things up from the floor

  • Maintaining balance

  • Moving safely and confidently

Exercises are adapted to your current ability and progressed as your strength and confidence improve.

Why are strength and balance important?

Strength naturally changes as we age, particularly when we become less active. Reduced strength can make everyday activities feel more difficult and may affect confidence with movement.

Balance can also change over time. Working on balance, coordination and lower body strength can help you maintain physical function and confidence.

Regular strength and balance exercise can form an important part of staying active and maintaining independence.
